Donations FAQS
All items must be gently used and in good, working condition.
Items we DO accept: mattresses & box springs (all sizes except king, must be free of stains and tears), bed frames, cribs, sheets, comforters, pillows, dressers, end tables, side tables, couches, chairs, ottomans, coffee tables, TV stands, TVs (only flat screen), desks, laptops, kitchen tables and chairs, microwaveable and dishwasher-safe plates/bowls/cups/glasses, coffee makers, toasters, eating and cooking utensils, pots & pans, bakeware, microwaves, gently used or new bath towels & washcloths, and more.
Items that we DO NOT accept: king mattresses, large appliances (refrigerators, stoves/ovens, washing machines/dryers, etc.), home decor, rugs, vacuum cleaners (unless new), china sets, non-microwaveable or non-dishwasher safe dishes (plates/bowls/cups), clothing, desktop computers, or food.
If you have an item that you would like to donate that is not on this list, please ask us if we accept it for donation!
Please understand that our inventory is limited by warehouse space, so depending on our inventory at any specific time, we may be holding off on certain donations until our inventory is down.
Please take photos of your donations as they help us determine if the donation meets the needs of our families for upcoming moves.

- The drop off location for donated items is at our warehouse on the East side of Madison by appointment only.
Yes! We do a large furniture pick up on average one time per month. We will coordinate the pick up date with you directly once you have filled out the form for donation. The waitlist for pickup can be up to 2 months long depending on availability.
We travel within Dane County to pick up large items with our moving truck.
No. The volunteers will do the lifting into the truck. We do ask that the furniture be moved to the garage or as close to the front door as possible prior to our arrival.
Please disassemble to the best of your abilities, place hardware in labeled bags and tape together pieces that belong together. Label furniture whenever possible, especially items that have more than one piece.
No, however you are welcome to make a donation to our non-profit by visiting our website. We maintain our moving truck and warehouse with monetary donations.
Yes. Please let us know you’d like a receipt and we will send it to you by email after the donation has occurred.
