Volunteer

Our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is growing and we are always looking for reliable volunteers for a variety of duties:

  • Volunteers to help locate donations for the families we serve.
  • Volunteers who can help lift and move heavy furniture, both when we are moving moms and their children into their new apartments, and picking up donated items monthly. 
  • Volunteers to help with the preparation and work during our Fundraising Events

We also currently have these volunteer positions available.

Delivery Designer – Two Times a Month on Saturdays 9am-12pm usually done sooner 🙂

Our Delivery Designer is a volunteer leadership position for someone who will oversee the household items and furniture deliveries. We are looking for someone who has a good eye for arranging furniture and creating comfortable, functional living spaces, while taking into consideration logistics, inventory, and client needs. Coordinates volunteers on delivery days and helps organize furniture placement in homes to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Training is provided.

Warehouse Assistant –(must be able to lift 50 pounds) (flexible schedule)

Our Warehouse Assistant is a volunteer who will coordinate and schedule furniture donation drop-offs. They will assist in the unloading, sorting, labeling, and inspection of donated items, ensuring that all donations are handled with care and respect.
Maintain that all furniture is stored and organized appropriately and that accurate and up-to-date records of all furniture donations are recorded in the inventory system. Training is provided.

 Communications Assistant – (flexible schedule)

We are looking for someone with great customer service skills. Using their own cell phone, our volunteer Communications Assistant will have FDC’s phone line directed to them and will check voicemails and either respond or forward to the appropriate person. Training is provided.

Fundraising and Community Relations Assistant -(flexible schedule)

We are looking for a volunteer with excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational abilities, and genuine passion for our mission. Someone who performs work with a high level of accuracy and an eye for detail, with proficiency and comfort using the intermediate level functions of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) or similar programs such as Google Docs.
Plan and coordinate fundraising events, auctions, volunteer recruitment activities, and furniture donation drives. Build relationships with local chambers of commerce and community organizations, and represent Felicia’s Donation Closet at community events, meetings, and outreach opportunities to increase awareness, support, and engagement.
Assist with identifying grant opportunities that support Felicia’s Donation Closet’s mission and programs. Maintain organized records of grant applications and reporting requirements. Training is provided.
